The secure storage for your digital content

The DataSilo is a compact 8-Disk standalone SATA drive subsystem with RAID control capabilities. The DataSilo saves your data error-tolerant and works independently. You can file 8x4TB, so together up to 32 TeraBytes data, thereby also demanding collections can be incorporated into the digital archive. You can also remove the archive disk groups in order to put them in a safe place.

The DataSilo is accessed from your workstation via multiple interfaces and is suitable for both PC and Mac. For little workgroups DataSilo is a good alternative to cost intensive SAN (storage area network) that will be usefull by little studios. Through the LAN interface, every workstations will have access to all data, even if multiple DataSilos are used.

With its high transfer rates, the DataSilo is ideal equipped for digital media production and the accompanying, fast-growing demand for fast and reliable storage capabilities.

By means of an automatic speed control the low-noise fan cooling continuously adapts intelligently to the environment. So you can stay at work without being disturbed.

Hardware RAID and Data Availability

To provide a true hardware RAID, the DataSilo is equipped with a 400MHz processor and 128 MB DDR2-400 SDRAM memory.
The RAID controller supports RAID 6 engine, at which two hard disks may fail, without resulting in data loss or performance degradation.
The DataSilo provides an easy scalability from JBOD to RAID and can be configured to RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 1E, 3, 5, 6, Single Disk or JBOD.
With THUNDERBOLT: Transfer rates of 870 MB/sec.

Maximum Host Interoperability

The DataSilo is equipped with various host ports like eSATA, iSCSI / AoE, USB3.0, FireWire 800 or USB 2.0, which can be used in a variety of combinations. This simultaneously allows multiple computers with different operating systems to access it.
Via plug-in host bus adapter (HBA)-cards more host connections can be easily added.
With a SATA port multiplier host, the eSATA (3.0Gbps) host support up to 8 volumes.
FireWire 800 can support up to 2 volumes. The USB3.0/iSCSI/AoE and USB2.0 hosts can also support up to 8 volume per host. A total of up to 16 volumes can be created, which may each be larger than 2 TB.
